Drummond Group certifies GlaceEMR for MIPS 2019
Glenwood Systems has completed software testing related to the MIPS 2019 performance period and is now finalizing certification details with Drummond Group.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a new Performance Interoperability measure for the 2019 performance period – Support Electronic Referral Loops by Receiving and Incorporating Health Information.
This new measure is a combination of two measures from 2018: Request/Accept Summary of Care and Clinical Information Reconciliation.
CMS required all certified EHR systems to build the new measure into their existing software and then have it tested and certified by an authorized affiliate.
Glenwood quickly updated GlaceEMR with the required changes then contacted Drummond Group for the next steps.
Drummond Group is an Authorized Certification Body (ACB) and Accredited Test Lab (ATL) of the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) Health IT Certification Program.
The group specializes in working with health IT developers, such as Glenwood, to certify EHR software for use by healthcare providers in regulatory programs.
Drummond worked with a group of senior developers at Glenwood to certify our ONC 2015 Edition software to be used by customers to compile data for the MIPS 2019 performance period.
Testing has now been completed and we anticipate the certification by Drummond Group to be finalized in early January 2020.
What's new at Glenwood?
Glenwood understands the value of your time, and the effect increased efficiency can have on your overall practice revenue. We strive to find new ways to make your job easier and more transparent. During this last quarter of 2019, we have created several new processes to help you maximize workflow.
EMR update - New flowsheet & ways to document screenings/assessments
Flowsheet update
Glenwood is developing a new, more visually-appealing flowsheet. We expect this will be released in the upcoming quarter. The two main benefits of the flowsheet:
- Easy to view trends for any parameters
- Easy to access historical information for any labs, procedures, etc.
Documenting screenings & assessments
Screenings and risk assessments, such as the PHQ-9, can now be documented from an iPad or any other tablet.
Billing update - Glace Business Insights (GlaceBI)
A new feature under development, Glace Business Insights (GlaceBI) will perform data analysis of the practice to find trends and provide meaning and understanding of a situation, resulting in a competitive advantage for the business.
The B.I. feature will provide an intelligent and customizable drill-down dashboard to provide a basic understanding of an issue, which can ultimately provide deeper insight into the major mechanics of the business side of the practice.
For example, the dashboard will be able to display a pie chart with breakdown of outstanding AR by Payer. You can also compare the Revenue by Payer of the previous year via bar graphs and other reports.
Being able to track your AR and revenue, as well as examine overall trends, can help you identify any areas of weakness and run the most efficient, profitable practice.
